CleanSource G-Series UPS Hits Power Protection Market

Active Power just announced the availability of its new G-Series, flywheel-based CleanSource (News - Alert) Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.

CleanSource is rated for both 60 Hz and 50 Hz applications and it is one of the major solutions available from the company.

And the new G-Series is offered in two power configurations; 480 volt (300 kVA and 600 kVA) and 400 volt (250 kVA and 500 kVA). Each have N+1 capability.

According to company officials, the CleanSource products allow enough power time to bridge over to a generator, 98 percent energy efficiency in the format of several turnkey solutions.

“Designed based on customer feedback, the G-Series is an enhancement to our current generation of UPS technology and is a cost and feature optimized solution for the 300 to 600 kVA power range,” said Uwe Schrader-Hausmann, chief technical officer and vice president, Engineering at Active Power.

“The G-Series has all the tangible benefits small datacenter operators value – high energy efficiencies even at 40 percent load; extremely power dense; up to seven times less likely to fail compared to conventional UPS technology; and a small carbon footprint. In addition, we added features like a full color touch screen display and the internal maintenance bypass to make the G-Series as easy as possible to manage and operate. These features and the core benefits of CleanSource UPS help reduce the total cost of ownership of the G-Series UPS for operators.”

But Active Power isn’t the only company with power protection solutions on the market. Minuteman Power Technologies has several UPS products designed for a variety of environments – and they can all be desktop, floor or wall-mounted.

Minuteman single-phase UPS products are available from 400VA to 24KVA, while our three-phase UPSs are available from 10kVA to 3000kVA.
